Dream/nightmare Treatment

Hi everyone,

I've been doing homework for my therapist for about two months. It is a dream journal activity that she typically uses with adolescents, but she's adapted it for adults.

What you do is you either draw the nightmare or write about the nightmare then you draw or write about yourself somehow defeating the trigger of feelings of anxiety, fear, grief etc.

If you like, I can post some of mine if anyone would like to see how it's done. It's to create a blueprint in your conscious mind that you can somehow pull up when you are dreaming so you can take control of your sleep again. I will let you know how my progress goes as well.

I'd like to see an example, too. Has this helped with nightmares? That is one of my main problems right now--I'm sleeping at least seven hours a night, but the therapist says it doesn't count because of all the nightmares.
