Sorry for so many posts lately, I just really don't have a lot of outside support.
So today my therapist brought up that she thinks I might would benefit from trauma-focused CBT. Due to several reasons we have stopped EMDR for right now- but the main reason is that I am not comfortable with feeling my emotions and tend to shut down. She herself isn't trained in TF-CBT but said she knows several therapist who are and that she wants to get trained. We kind of dropped it at that. I don't want to change therapist and it would take forever to gain trust, so I am hoping she is thinking more along the lines of her learning and then we do it together.
Anyways- can someone explain exactly how TF-CBT works and what it "looks" like? Have you had good or bad experiences with it?
