Careful with DAV. They are in cahoots with the VA in some locations. I hate the VA with a burning sun intensity. They have not fixed anything in my case. I might as well have gone to a corpsman on a ship. AND no offense to any corpsman. If they only give you a truckload of Motrin and zero authorization to do anything, what are you supposed to do? Log the problem and move on. That is all you can do.
If you read the history of the VA, it was a state system. Then the Feds took over. Now its a state fed system. What they never made the VA go through is a proper process mapping/process improvement program. It was en vogue in the 60's. Now it is a matter of course for most private organizations. For f*cks sake. Spend 10 million dollars and hire a health care consultant and find out how f*cked up your are. Work from there.
I'm on my fourth round with these guys. Starting next week. The key is to keep it in their face. Don't give up.
Also attend that Veterans day march. If 2 million or more show up for that. Something will happen. I would not be kind on the protest signs either.
