Sexual Assault Facing Your Fears

Aggghh!! CB I am with you, absolutely petrified. I found one under my pillow once it was huge and ran away behind my bed. I moved out the bedroom and slept on the floor in the living room for about 2 months afterwards as I couldn't find and kill that beast.

Lucy, I just wouldn't and couldn't touch one..your very brave!

It isn't bravery at all! It is about looking at that spider and identifying how I feel. There is none of the terrified feelings that there used to be. None of the panic. I am an awful lot bigger than that small critter...

I am not sure how I will be when the next great big hairy spider runs across the living room. I don't think I will be touching it, that really would be brave!

T has told me today about his own fear of going up ladders. That to me is an understandable fear, as if you fall you will hurt yourself. However it is constraining some work he wants to do on his house. I told him EMDR is quite effective and I can recommend a good therapist!!
