I hope something comes up so you can find a better place to live. I lived a lot of strange places when I was in school. A house with no indoor plumbing, a corner of a basement, next to the washer, closed off with a blanket for privacy, the attic of a house where a friend rented a room (landlord didn't know I was there)...... Wouldn't have done what you're going to try and I hope you can find something better. (If you live in the US, I don't think they can refuse to renew your lease because of a service dog.)

Thank you. To clarify, I will be living in the basement, so it will be a little closed off from them.

About the dog, he said that, but he said that they could also just deny a renewal without giving a reason.
