I had my first and only ever GYN exam not too long ago because of special stabbing pains and just to make sure I didn't get any STDs or anything from being raped as a 5 year old. I told my PCP that's why I was there, too, which was super helpful because then she was aware of how I might have an extra hard time with the exam and was extra communicative about each step.
This is at an understaffed, under equipped little clinic in a bad part of the city- they've already seen and heard everything, so they're not surprised by anything!

In my case she didn't figure out what the pains were from, but said there was nothing wrong with that area. I notice the pains are mostly when I'm super stressed, though, so my guess is it's like a body memory of the trauma? Since there seems to be no physical explanation?

I hope they can help you tomorrow!

There's a line in a Brett Dennen song I just love:
"Darlin' do not fear what you don't really know"
Easier said than done, but maybe find the song and have a few listens! : )

I was late to this, but :hug:s and I'm wishing you all the luck with your appointment tomorrow. I have to make an annual soon to get prescriptions and stuff and it's always an hour of me staring at the phone and having panic attacks. Never mind if there's actually something wrong, then all bets are off. I'm glad you've been finding a little relief in the meantime.

Tea Tree Oil is the nectar of the Gods! OMG it has given me SO much relief! I honestly love that stuff.... Its in my all natural deodorant (from Lush) and that stuff is the bomb, too.... (Ok, maybe this will sound gross, but ya, it is a powerful antibacterial, so much that after I use the deodorant, half the time I can't tell if my shirt has been worn as it simply doesn't smell....) But back to the issue, yes, the tea tree oil SIGNIFICANTLY reduced my pain after I used it last night so I will continue to use it. My doctor was in a bit of a rush, and this morning she said that nothing appeared to be wrong. Of course, last night when I used the tea tree oil, I had no idea it would work THAT well, LOL.

I am pretty sure it is an inflamed duct down there and if it doesn't clear up then I'll go see a Uro-GYN down in the city.

I got a prescription for a yeast infection that is recurring and won't go away. Instead of the typical one dose, she gave me FOUR because it appears to be a bit med resistant at this point. I had been using garlic as well and that really did knock down the symptoms. (I was at a point of being willing to try ANYTHING as I've been away and with the OTC meds not working, I had to try alternative treatments.)

Unfortunately I needed to make an appointment for next month for a pelvic exam. Yippee. It needs to be done though, and while she asked me if I had a GYN, she said she could do it. I told her last time I went to the GYN that I had a bad experience. She knows I have PTSD so I think she understands.

Thanks for all of your support. I feel so much better now that I've gone to the doctor!

Glad all is ok. Thought I'd mention about the yeast infection....I had the same thing..wouldn't go away. It turned out it was bv after getting tested. ...treated easily. It was caused by over washing down below....upsets the balance. Just something to keep in mind if yeast infection continues.
