Fishing

Going fishing tomorrow morning. I have the Gym at 8 am, then I want to be at the fishing spot at 0900 h. High tide is at 10:30 h.

Its a 1 km walk from the carpark, you walk past the WWII gun emplacements and hopefully no one else will be there. I will take some pics and if I manage to catch one I will take a pic of that too, and post them on here.

I just enjoy the quiet.

What happened there? Smells, sounds, sights, feelings...I want to absorb them all right now. I would have liked to be there, maybe a few dozen yards away, close enough to tip my hat hello and just enjoy the day.

I will download the pics soon. I did not catch anything, but it was quiet and peaceful. Just me and nature.

So, I ended up going fishing. I ended up staying for about two hours and did not catch a thing.
My excuse will be that it was too windy. The wind popped up to be about 25 knots, which for a fisherman is pretty gusty. The temperature was a nice 26 deg C and no humidity at this time of year.

The whole purpose was to get away from technology and society. It was just me, the wind and the sea.

The picture is taken at a place call Shelley Cove. You have to walk past two old WWII bunkers. The spotting tower used to be up on top of Castle Hill. The USA had a large presence here during WWII.

The island you can see in the foreground of one of the photos is Magnetic Island.

I wish I could have view like that every day. Instead society is just getting too busy for me. Can't wait till the kids have left home and I can retire to the quiet life.

Ahhh, Jimmy that is what I'm talking about! For me just the simple act of fishing is the thing. If I catch things is only a secondary. Unless I am camping and actually using those fishies for food.
