Funniest Anger Moment

Alan, I am having a ruff go today also I was glad when everyone left for bolling. But now I have to muh time to think. I am lucky I rarely drive because I dont trust my meds. When I give directions I am a smart ass like telling Seren to turn right when she needs to go left. Not being mean just trying to have fun. This happens especialy when I am going somewere I dont want to that will make me uncomfortable. She will usualy go at least 4 or 5 turns before she catches on. Then she is lost and pissed but I drew the attention of the destination. Hope your second trip goes or has gone better. My family is mixed also but American mixed I am Native American, Scot/Irish (mostly Mic) and Seren is Black, and Scot but it works well. The funny thing is I am the southener and had to teach her to cook even soul food. Hope you get even a little giggle from this. I also hope you have better days. Good luck! TEX

LMFAO, Thanks Willis. This has really cheered me up. Really a southern Native American. And a Black Scott.
That would be a hoot living in that house.

My Grandparents were married in Scotland. Then my grandfather immigrated to Australia, then went to fight in WWI.
He was a Bandsman. When I first saw it, I thought 'What a Pussy'. Then when I read about them, I changed my mind.
He was in the 3rd Pioneer Battalion. They were the old fashion fighting, in trenches facing off at each other, and the bandsmen doubled up as stretcher bearers and ran out on to the battlefield to pick up the wounded and dead during breaks in battle. That would take some cohuna's.

I have some old diaries of his. He was not meant to have them and they are tiny with very very small writing. I have not read through them yet, A bit worried on what might be in there.

Getting back to the subject, Margaret, my girl, does not like to cook. She loves to clean. That suits me to a tee, as I love cooking. Its therapeutic to me. I put on a bit of U2 and cook. Mind you, sometimes I have burnt myself and got really pissed off at what I am cooking and it has ended up in the bin.

Famous Anger Moment for me. I was a Port Captain for awhile. A job that entails running 150 men around a ship to load and discharge properly and taking care of the crew and any Authorities that may poke around. Sometimes the Captain of the ship would ask for a ride to town or a telephone booth. There is such a thing as "Road Rage", But what I had was, still have, is Road Psychotic Lunacy. There were 2 speeds for me regardless of distance. Light Speed and Stop. The ride would start off with me cursing the van. Piece of shit. And then the attack would spread to all perceived offenders. Up to and including cursing, obscene gestures, excessive horn blowing and threatening to run people off the road or over. All this while trying to have a casual conversation with the Captain. They never said anything. But after awhile, no Captains asked me to give them a ride either. This is a group of hard as nails men, who spent half their lives at sea. They see more danger in a voyage than people see in their lives. And they feared me.

I yelled at someone in the middle of crossing a road because they didn't think it through. Currently in India where the roads are hectic as hell. You cross by playing Frogger in real life. So we were crossing and the missus gets stuck behind a barrier. The original plan was someone would help her over and then cross. however that person just legged it. So cue me charging across traffic picking her up and climbing the barricade on me. This causes her to lose it and she elbows me in the face (What can I say, I love women who have the survival instincts of a lemming and the weight of one too...) I proceed to drop her face first on the other side and fall crotching myself on the barricade (the baricade is nearly two metres so its fair fall for her and a fair crotching for me.

That's when I tried to fight the barricade and lost falling over it. Then getting up and punching a mirror of the car breaking it and swearing loudly as it "bloody hurt". Then all the PTSD fog cleared away and I realise "oh shit! I broke someone's car mirror. Leg it!" So I pick up the struggling missus copping a knee to my stomach and few more elbows before running away being pursued by a really fat guy in a sarong. We ran 200 metres before he gave up.

This was when she threw up on me because she got motion sickness from the running....

Mine isn't Combat-PTSD but sort of combat-related PTSD... when I got back I waitressed for a while and once worked a huge really posh do, tv cameras and celebs and everything, and I was carrying a tray of empty cocktail glasses out when some joker stuck a cigar in a helium-balloon, I went straight for cover without any thought-processes (sensible, imo) but from everyone else's point of view the waitress had thrown the tray of glasses over her head backwards and dived under a table to crawl in amongst famous people's knees... :-/

Oh well, you gotta laugh, eh? :)

G'day QLDAussie (see, I'm bilingual, I can speak English and Strine!)

I wasn't in combat myself (I'm here gaining help about my new guy who has combat-ptsd, undiagnosed), but I worked as a civilian involved in mass graves work in former Yugoslavia for two tours in different circs, first one before they'd quite got around to noticing they'd signed a peace accord... I should never have been allowed near the country, I'd seen a gun twice before, both times holstered, civvie police at foreign airports, that was all, and bang, straight into an active war-zone, oopsydaisy and hullo ptsd-loopiness!

Hi Jan,

thats 2 of us from former Yugo lands now! Yay us! Did you ever get down to BiH at all when you were there? If you ever feel like shouting off about it or how great the Armija Bosna i Hercegovina were Link Removed drop me a line any time.

I may do some time, Alan! I'd noticed you were there as well, in a Not An Official Soldier role... I was mainly in the region round Tuzla and round Prizren later, did 2-for-the-price-of-1 and managed both "wars"... incredible place and I fell in love with it. If Scotland and Switzerland had an affair, Bosnian landscape would be the offspring... :)

Same here, if you want someone who knew the place and the time, drop me a line.

Sorry to go off-topic everyone, but it's not often I get contact with someone who knew that time and place...

Jan

Its only off topic for the rest not us. We have to sit through them whinging on about Iraq and Afghanistan... Ha! My friend was with 2 korpus but I never got up that far. I was down Dobrinja, Hrasnica, Grbavica area and travel was limited on my time off. In fact time off was limited on my time off. Although after a few weeks I did get a nice hat... And a JNA KFS set.

I like "not an official soldier" mind... Good term!

Now back to your normal regional program... Link Removed

You got time off?! Jammy so-and-so... one day in six weeks, and that was to sit around in a tin-container on a US LA... and it was only because we had to pull the Mercs out of the site the previous night so we couldn't go back to retrieving til it had been swept anew... that previous night was the one that was my big problem: our convoy of 11 KFOR grunts and no translator chose the wrong one of the multiple routes and ran straight into an armed mob of a couple of hundred. Two armoured but guess who chose to be in the sodding thin-skin... not a good nine hours... Roud Zvornik way, that was.
I'll need to excavate across my room to the map on the wall and check your location as I'm not familiar with them - Dobrinja has a ring to it, but you get that used to the names in reading the indictments...
