Hi

I have recenlty completed a course of counseling using guided imagery. I can only say what a fantastic powerful tool this is. I feel so much better.

If anyone else is offered guided imagery, please try it. It worked for me.:occasion:

In what context did you use it? I am always curious to hear how different therapists facilitate this.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, wife uses CD's for sleep. Transferred to iPod for easier use. There is one specifically for PTSD, I think. Soothing affirmations that drift off to music to relax you. I sometimes resort to one entitled Restfull Sleep, I think. This is one "alternative" resource I am sure can be of help to some.

When I started having sleep issues, I talked with my doctor and I think that I actually convinced him to prescribe sleeping pills for me. Luckily, instead of becoming addicted and dependant on them for sleep, I hated how they made me feel. It was then that through my counsellor I was intriduced to guided imagery on CD's.

I stumbled accross a CD at Barnes & Nobles that is produced by a company called "Meditainment". They have a website that I've ordered several more CD's from. They are from the UK and have those awesome accents, and the music and sound effects that they use are phenomenal!

I guess the best thing I can say about guided imagery CD's is that I seldom hear how they end!
