I tried really hard, but that was the problem. I told my husband last night that I was going to explode if I didn't take time off. But I didn't listen to my body and I went to work anyway. I stayed in bed much too long. I was later than usual getting to work. Being rushed is a trigger so that did not help. Eventually, I couldn't hold it in and the tears came. I had to go hide. Luckily the music teacher took my class.
I tried to calm to a place where I could go back and resume my day. But once I stopped crying, the panic entered. I knew I needed to go home. The next problem was how to get two doors down to the secretary to ask her if going home was a possibility. I finally managed the courage to leave only to find her with a parent. I calmly asked to see her when she had a minute and retreated. Then, I proceeded to have a panic attack. When the secretary came in, she asked if shaking as normal. She said she had no idea when it came to what I was going through. She was genuinely compassionate and that helped.
So I came home and am trying to calm myself. It does not help that there is a digger and occasional dump truck outside that keep shaking the ground and therefore the house as they work. Being shaken is another trigger. It seems like there are so many triggers. Just got to get through today and then try again tomorrow, right?
