Here I am! LOL Thanks everyone for the lovey messages, cakes and cupcakes. Honestly, I'm so surprised that this is here and so many are wishing me the best. I even had a neighbor sing happy birthday to me this morning. :)

The last few days (since the first) have been pretty rough. My father's birthday is March 1st and it kicked up a lot more memories and emotions than I thought it would and I had a few rough days. Then yesterday, my department went out to lunch together (it's a new thing this year we go out to lunch for whomever's birthday is in that month). They're very nice people...so much better than the people in my last job. Overlaying bad memories with good ones helps so much. And it was so nice that my lunch tab was picked up, too. Then today I got to sleep in (my husband kept the annoying cat out of the bedroom) and then he and I went to the horse track and watched the ponies run. We stayed for six races and bet $12 and won $13.60. Woo-hoo!!! We finally came out ahead. My oldest daughter called me and coached my grandson to say 'Happy birthday mee-maw. I love you, meemaw'. That was sweet. And my youngest gave me the sound track to the Blues Brothers movie.

All in all it was a good day. So much better than birthdays used to be for me. Finally realizing that I'm worth a little extra attention and it's not such a bad thing.
