Hi all, maybe its the fact that we've left winter (on my side of the world) and the sun's shining. But I'm feeling positive and upbeat.

Not seen my SO sufferer for around 7 weeks now, contact has been minimal. May be 5 texts and 1 phone call in all that time. Last time we spoke we left things in a good place and decided to keep the relationship on hold, no pressure, just so we can both have space to focus on ourselves.

He said he was going back to therapy and focusing on work and I began a new job I love! I have new colleagues who are fast becoming friends. And I have dinner and drinks planned with other friends. Am also keeping up with taking care of my own general health and fitness and smiling/ laughing a lot more.

I have faith and belief my SO will come back to me when he's ready and he's always in my thoughts. For now though, I'm enjoying life. This is not the first go around for us. I'm strangely getting used to his pattern of behaviour in isolating and will welcome him back with open arms, if he so wishes. If not I have nothing but love and respect for the man and am very proud of his attempts to combat his PTSD. Apart from my dad, he's the bravest, strongest man I know. So glad I met him!

Wow, I'm so glad you posted this. Too often supporters become hopelessly enmeshed and lose themselves in their efforts. Well done, Linzee!
