This is in the past, and I'm trying to work through what it has meant for me.
I seem to have had dissociative fugue following the trauma when I was 20. This is the view of a psychiatrist I saw some years later and it's consistent with hospital records from the time. And it makes sense. I regained my identity, but then remembered nothing about the trauma. It was only four years ago that I began to recover memories.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had dissociative fugue or selective amnesia of adult trauma? I'd really like to know how other people have experienced this, if willing to share.
I realise maybe no-one will respond but I thought I'd ask.
