Hope you enjoy your walk 🙂

I had a night out recently, night out dancing. In the past I woulda drank excessively and taken drugs but I did it drink n drug free, and felt great! For years I thought I'd love to be able to do that, but it felt beyond me. Really quite proud

Getting ready for a run and had a mixed fruit smoothie. I am grumpy 😠 but it helps to celebrate cause I rather a brownie right now

This thread reminds me, I have a couple “walking buddies”. Some we just remind each other to walk or ask about it. Share pictures from our walks. Or talk on the phone while the other walks. Also: calling after a workout or picking up a call during a workout. Just including each other 🥰

Moods are lifted

@Defaultxlove the plant is widespread and considered invasive. Harvesting invasive plants for medicine is kind of a neat thing but doesn’t make a dent in the population. I harvested from a friend’s backyard. My daughter is young and her period isn’t regulated yet. When she gets it it just keeps going and won’t turn off. Like a switch gets left on. There are two tinctures I have found so far that help turn it off. Shepherds purse (also weedy but not very common around here) and periwinkle. There are others that could work—yarrow for example, but I haven’t tried it yet.

I’ve only had to give her the tinctures twice. Last time I did just shepherds purse and it worked but this time just the shepherds purse didn’t work so I added the periwinkle and success!

Tinctures are typically made in a 2:1 ratio by weight: plant to alcohol. I finely chopped the leaves, put in a jar and topped with vodka then let it sit for about a week. She took 30 drops per dose. She hated it because it was so bitter so I mixed it with Nutella and peanut butter. The shepherds purse I bought and that one she takes fine, but chases with a swig of Dr. Pepper.

I think the way the plants work is vasoconstriction but not sure. Mostly I think it’s magic 🪄

That’s our story! 😊

I love the idea of helping a teen take her tinctures by mixing with Nutella and Peanutbutter! Such a nice, indulgent treat for when you're bleeding, too. 😊

I downloaded a simple app called
My workout group

And I like it so far. My one gf joined and we can nudge each other to work out, post progress pics and set alarms. There’s a group chat also. I hope more people join!

so when I can’t find a solution to my feelings and I really just need to feel better asap!

Miles. And up hills. ✅

I rather cry on the treadmill or in the woods on a trail then feel suffocated and stuck in emotion.

why do I cry when I work out? I need to hear it from a person not google not ai. talk to me about this while I work out if youd like. thanks

ps. working out listening to motivational podcasts really helps me

I remember reading a book about trauma at least 20 years ago where they talked about someone who would get triggered by physical exercise. Basically the increased heart rate during exercise was similar to the increased heart rate during the traumatic experience.

Could it be a little bit like this?

Some part of your experience during exercise somehow reminding you of something that makes you cry?

I always weep so profoundly any time i see or read a scene where two people kiss romantically, or not even kiss, but have a meaningful expression of love.

It's not a trigger

But maybe it brings into sharp relief how awful most of my intimate experiences have been I don't know.

Hope someone comes up with something to help you understand what's going on for you.
