New Here
Just thought I would introduce myself... I'm Sera, 21, and I hail from Canada. I am currently in my third year of a degree in neuroscience/psychology and I also work in the healthcare sector. I was diagnosed with PTSD when I was 17 years old, (which influenced my career path and educational pursuits) after 2-3 years of symptoms. I was in therapy from the time shortly before I was diagnosed up until a few months ago. Considered "recovered" but I still struggle to stay afloat, so to speak.

So, hello!

Welcome to the forum Serafima. You will find a lot of good information and support here.

Hi Sera. I'm from Canada too. I joined this site about a week ago. There's lots of information here. I have found the posts inspiring and people's accounts of the strategies they employ helpful. Welcome.

Welcome Sera, hope you find some great support to assist with your journey. PTSD is completely non-prejudicial and affects everyone regardless of gender, education, ethnicity / origin. The international flavor and interaction here between carers and suffers is really neat. All the best from a fellow Cdn.

Hi Sera

I'm a newby too. Just joined the other day. My name is Sharron and I live in Bulgaria. This is one of the more reactive decisions I have made in my life. Still don't know why I am here as there has been trauma after trauma for the last 3 years. I live with my partner who I think I love but to be honest I'm not sure what that means. Generally I don't feel good feelings (except fleetingly). I have no problems feeling the negative ones.

My partner tells me I am 2 people. The horrible one he has named Egbertafone. He doesn't know why he has used that name but it has stuck and we both use it to explore my mood changes. It is humbling for me to see so many other people have the same problems as I do. I have felt for so long that I am 'the only one' who feels this way.

I welcome you to the forum and hope that you get a lot out of the interaction here. I am looking forward to learning and growing. Take good care of yourself.

Hey Sera, welcome to the forum. Certainly a good career path that you will have some practical experience within. I hope your experience helps your future career to produce more results towards sufferers. Always good to have more physicians with actual true practicable knowledge.
