Hello,
I am the Original Poster's Husband, and this will almost certainly be my only post here.
The rather Draconian and ill-thought out Forum Rules regarding Punctuation (Specifically the capitalization of her I's or mistake to do so thereof), and the disciplinary system there-in have triggered my wife off and she has set her account to be deleted. PTSD, as I'm sure many of you already know, can come with authority figure issues.... I can understand that this is a community, and that those here have agreed by the rules, however, in just a quick perusal of a single board I see this mistake isn't an uncommon one....
On a Forum meant to be a place of gathering for people that live with the consequences of abuse of power, that also happens to be technologically advanced enough to have a "Double Post Filter", it seems there should be a better way then a Private Messaged Wrist Slapping for an apparently common mistake....
"4: DO use basic grammar in forum posts. Start a sentence with a capital, end it with a fullstop, and capitalize individual letters correctly, punctuate abbreviations correctly and break your content into readable size paragraphs with a clear space between each paragraph. SMS speak is not basic grammar. (Chat, profiles and other areas not a forum post, are excluded)"
For people that have suffered Child Abuse, often Home, School, or even Religious authority is over stepped, creating an issue for the person later in life dealing with issues that may have been present at the time.... I sincerely hope nobody that was ever abused in a Catholic School (Not the least common of PTSD Survivor I've ever encountered) ever runs afoul of this very ill-thought out rule..... I can understand the reasons behind it (Attempting to curb "Net Speak", the head-aches and miscommunication that tends to come with it), but I would hope a better way might be found for the future.
Sincerely,
Raevenon
P.S. "Fullstop" is actually two words, not one. If were going to be this technical about things. The above quote was taken directly from the rules page when I created my account.....
