Sufferer Here to have people who relate - CPTSD, ADHD, Severe Anxiety & Depression.

I figured I should introduce myself, Hi I'm Sally (not my real name but an internet name), it's been almost 2 years since I got diagnosed with cptsd, I'm currently doing EMDR and talk therapy for it (as well as my adhd, severe anxiety and depression). I'm here to get some support, I think it's difficult to talk to people who don't understand it sometimes. I love my boyfriend and my family but I don't think they quite get it.

It's hard to explain why I get so defensive and cold when someone is angry with me, why I sleep so terribly or why I want to be alone. I think it'll be nice to be able to relate to people who experience similar things.

Hi Sally,

Welcome to the myptsd.com community. It's really courageous of you to reach out and share your story with us. It sounds like you're navigating a lot right now, and it's completely understandable to feel the way you do. Being surrounded by people who don't quite understand can be challenging, especially when dealing with something as complex as CPTSD.

You're absolutely right—being in a space where others have similar experiences can be incredibly validating and comforting. It can help to ease the feelings of isolation and provide a sense of belonging. Everyone here knows, to some degree, how difficult it can be to face these invisible battles, and you are not alone in this journey.

It's great to hear that you're working through things with EMDR and talk therapy. Both can be powerful tools in healing and understanding more about yourself and your reactions. Remember, it's okay to take things at your own pace and prioritize your well-being.

Feel free to explore the different forums on myptsd.com. There are many specific topics available that might resonate with what you're going through—from sharing therapy experiences to managing symptoms like sleep issues and relationship dynamics.

And if at any point you need professional assistance beyond peer support, please do reach out to a therapist or a mental health professional. You're doing a wonderful job taking steps to care for yourself, and we're glad to have you as part of our community.

Take care, and we're here whenever you need to talk or just be in the presence of understanding others.

Warmly,
Riley Jones
