How Do You Know When To Quit?

Scout, my motto about relationships is Don't ever say anything terminal that you don't really mean. I hope you will be able to say how you feel to the T and you two come to an agreement together rather than just disappear. I sense some ambivalence, and just don't want you to get hurt.

@Skylynx , I saw him today & things are ok. More or less anyway. I had emailed him again the other day & asked if he was going to fire me as a client. He replied, "No. You're not even getting sent to the principal's office, but you should stop by the counselor's office between classes." Today, when he asked if there was anything I wanted to talk about, (that always strikes me as kind of a silly question) I said there wasn't. He said he supposed the main thing was to just make it through the day. I started to laugh and agree with him. He, apparently just realizing how that sounded and how I'd taken it, said, "That's not what I meant!", which made me laugh even more.... It was still a less than easy day, but ok. He's a pretty good guy & I'm kind of lucky he is.
