First day allowed out and into town on my own. For safety reasons. I walk like a person double my age (and I am old as it is!) due to physical stuff that happened back in December that I really haven't recovered from.

So today was the day! Down a big assed hill (mountain territory here) and then back up it! I stopped at the bottom, stared it down, and prayed. Prayed that I wouldn't end up a sprawling ball of fetal on the pavement. When I arrived here 3 weeks ago, walking to the end of the block was a serious challenge. Things are improving. Far to go but goddammit I made it!

I had to stop every 30 feet and rest (lol - so it took me an hour to walk up the hill and it is hot here (I think) today). Sweat pouring off of me when I got in so I doused my head in cold water. But I freaking DID IT! I.Did.It! Thanks for trusting me my friend. You.Rock!

I'm cheering for you! Yes, you surely did it. Exhausted beyond words you may be, but would you have believed this a month ago?

Erm... well, even though this makes it sound as if I've been holding you down all this time...

Thanks for trusting me my friend.
You're most welcome. It will only get easier from here. And let it be noted for posterity that I didn't even have a panic attack while waiting for you to make it home. I'd say today counts as a good day. :)

It's also worth remembering that even though some days it may feel like the forward momentum is stagnated, it doesn't mean it's stopped. Two steps forward, one step back, a few sideways, a pause to get your bearings, but if you looked at the map of your movement from an aerial view, you'd see in general you're moving forward. And if it's hard to believe that sometimes, well, it's handy to have an observer to notice it for you.
