Hey Sludge you find it yet?

Somewhere around here I have one of the mini Zippo style lighters from the Subic Bay Chief's mess. Gotta dig it out.

Never got close to the Chiefs Mess in Subic, got thrown out of the Acey-Duecey once, I was made to be a citizen of beautiful Olongapo from that day forward. Between the binjo ditches and the monkey meat on a stick it's a wonder I survived two WestPacs and shore duty.

What could the consequences be? I get sent to the other side of the world to do what needed to be done and it changes my world forever?

MAn, you guys get all the sharp looking gear. Looking for my Subic Zippo, I found my old dress blues, still all ribboned up. (Had ribbons on it I don't remember getting, had to get my records out. Sure enough, I got 'em.

Anyway, that uniform looks silly to me now. Found a picture of me in full dress blues, spats, sugar belt, white gloves, cravat and the whole deal for a burial at sea.
