I'm Doing This For Me, Because I'm Worth It

Ok I saw The blood nurse this morning. She has real fancy scale things which weigh and measure BMI. I asked her to re weigh me as the scales yesterday and my ones at home told different stories.

The good news is I have lost weight, about 3 kgs, not the 5kgs yesterdays sacales told. I have also reached my first goal which was for my home scales to register my weight and this morning they did. I am seeing the nurse in 2 weeks for my blood pressure and weight check.

I am feeling good about it all and whilst walking the dogs I am feeling fitter although I know there is an awful long way to go.

Oh dear, it is 2 weeks since I reported in. It has been a tough couple of weeks.

Because my skin is so sore and painful, I haven't been walking the dogs as it is too cold and the cold aggravates the psoriasis. As a double whammy, Max can't be walked until his stitches come out - hopefully on the 23rd. So on the whole not much exercise.

Work has been manic, last week it was only chocolate which saw me through Friday.

So, I haven't been an angel, alcohol has been drunk and enjoyed (but still not during the week) and chocolate has been consumed.

This morning I went back to see the nurse for both a blood pressure check and to be weighed. I was surprised and pleased that my blood pressure is now normal and I had lost another 2lb in weight. It is not a lot but it is in the right direction.

I will see her again after Christmas :D, I honestly don't expect a loss then:eek:

I was just looking for this thread to catch up and here you were replying. Fab stuff Kp, i really mean that, trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle is not easy at all and nor is losing weight. You are doing a fantastic job, keep it up.

Also good for you facing the yukky womens stuff, you are brill. Its a hard time of year too much food around soon etc but its christmas just stick with bit of moderation and you will be fine. I stilll haven't sorted eating out although havent eaten much today but either way my weight doesn't want to shift lack exercise not helping. I need leaf out of your book.

Still here cheering you on KP! YOU GO GIRL!

Oops, oops, oops :eek::oops::notworthy:

Oh dear, let's just say I fell by the wayside big time. Far to many goodies and choc eaten and way to many glasses of wine.

But hey, I had a not bad Christmas .

So tomorrow, life returns to normal. I see the nurse to be weighed on the 17 Jan and at the very least I don't want to have put weight on, staying the same would be OK, but ideally I want to have lost something.

Hopefully, I will be able to walk Max off his lead soon, which means I walk as well, until then I'm going up and down stairs a few times.

I also now have a goal to aim for. A holiday in Florida in a couple of years time. H, the girls, my brother and I went in 2000. Now, my brother is talking about us all going when he retires in 2 years. We'll need a bigger villa and a minibus as there will be 6 or 7 of us. So I need to be fit for all of that walking I know we will do.

Also, if you can KP, exercise before you eat in the morning as your body then burns fat as it's first source of energy instead of recently eaten food.

If you want to drink a glass of wine, don't eat after that as alcohol slows down your metabolism. Have it after dinner and not with dinner. ;)

Sorry if you know all this - just trying to be helpful as little bits help.

Re Chocolate recipes: google miracle brownies flax seed meal. It's on the lowcarbdiet site. Virtuous brownies....

L (who is 4 on this day) "Mom, I want brownies for breakfast."
Me "Ok. How about two? I cut them kind of small."
:)

I'm joining you! I am back on the wagon. Abs in the AM, self hypnosis in the afternoon, weights 3 times a week. I'm getting back into shape and out of the "fat clothes."
