Hi,

I started taking Inderal for PTSD a couple of months ago. I was originally misdiagnosed as bipolar for 16 years and have always had problems with medications. If you use in tandem with therapies like EMDR, it does wonders. Yes, it is designed for heart patients and lowers blood pressure so you have to be careful when you first start it cuz you might get light headed when you stand up. It does not eliminate symptoms or triggering, but helps you calm down once you have been triggered. Inderal is also not the only beta blocker available for this. I hope I helped.

Ive been on Inderal for quite some time now, not for PTSD but for heart palpitations and shakes.
One thing ive found is that i can not, no matter what ive tried, and ive tried a lot, is get scared, even when the horse playes up or does something freaky, or im on a scary ride at Dreamworld, being dropped from 10 stories high to the ground, or going upside down and looped around really fast, its just really boring for me, no heart flutters, no dropped belly, i cant get embarrassed(no red faces,no rush of blood), at first, i felt like a TOTAL freak, because i didnt know it was the medication causing this, i thought it was me being so emotionally f%^&#d up that i was just beyond help, had the therapist stumped too, but i did some research and a bit of help from the forum and yep, its the Inderal. so just a heads up.

By the way, im on 40mg 4 times a day.
