I need to print this out and put it over my computer.

I have definitely said this same thing and...
Forgiveness is tossed around like "penny" candy; it really has no value because no one takes it serious. Its like an old cliche that has the same equivalency to that of an analogy. Forgiveness is more complicated that most would like to believe and there's a reason for it. You were hurt terribly by someone, and the emotional and trauma scars are reminders of it. I don't believe most people are really aware of the true nature behind forgiveness, what it means and what it doesn't mean. True forgiveness, ideally, means not holding someone accountable for something terrible that they did to you, and reconciling with them as though nothing ever happened. Now, honestly, can anyone do that? No, they can't, but they won't admit it because it would show how hypocritical they really are. You, see, no one truly forgives. Its unfortunate that they want people like you and I to go along with this nonsense knowing that it is hypocritical and being dishonest to not only the victims but their victimizers. Well, I guess the abuser doesn't care if they are lying or not because they continue to benefit from abusing their victims.
