I'm from the U.K and moving back there in a couple of days, not far from London.

Hi KK, I'm in the London area. I don't do meetups but just wanted to say hi and hope you're settling back in. Is it cold enough for you? ;)

Just wondering if the UK members are enjoying the snow? The weather maps on TV don't seem to be showing you properly, but the East of Scotland is all white and blizzards! Crazy weather but nice for a walk; it's the only time I really like the look of where I live.

Im in berkshire near reading and it is just lovely to see, have not been out in it properly yet though, other than to do the ducks water :) The dogs love it though

I'm from Loughborough, Leicestershire in the East Midlands. I've been grounded and isolated for 6 years now with my PTSD. Haven't socialised since, apart from support workers for the last 2 years.

It would be great to meet up with other people who understand what its like to live like this. I think i've lost near enough all my social skills that I had prior to my breakdown. I wouldn't find It easy initially, but I would be intrested.

Hi Johnny 1975,

I'm sure my husband was based/visited Loughborough when he was in the RAF.

If you go to the General section and find Local Events and have a look through you will see that some of us have met up (there are photos). We met in Birmingham and York last year and are planning on meeting up again.

It wan't easy for any of us but we could pat ourselves on the back and say, 'we did it.' In fact, it was plain scary! I'd do it again though.

Also, KP has organised regular on-line chats in the chat room which has been successful and we always have an on-line Christmas party.

I hope you get to come to some of the events.

Thanks, i'll take a look. :)

It would be very hard for me also, especially to travel to somewhere out of my area. (I certainly couldn't travel too far for the foreseable future, as i have blackouts). I would be very keen though, if I ever got into a place where they stopped/reduced, and i could manage it.

It's frustrating as i know I would benefit so much from 3D interaction. It's not like im some kind of freak or something, i'm just someone who's got PTSD. (I need to keep telling myself this!)
Interaction with non-PTSD people is near enough impossible, as I have to go down the route of explaining my behaviour and divulging my past. This is something I no longer am willing to do, due to bad experiences in the past.

I'm new here and from Yorkshire. Found this site looking for PTSD groups. Never spoken to anyone else before. Am prepared to travel and bring Yorkshire toffees with me.
