Supporter Its been a hard 20 years.....

Hello everyone.... as you can guess I'm new here.

Just recently celebrated 20 years with my wife who has been suffering with PTSD resulting from childhood sexual abuse.

Its been tough, but worth it.

Sometimes I need someone to talk to about things, but no one I know can understand what its like. I joined up here on MyPTSd to see where i could help other supporters and perhaps how they can help me.

Looking forward to sharing, laughing, crying, and supporting each other!

I'm a sufferer not a supporter, but there are tons of supporters here and we all help each other out. This is a great site and I'm glad you found us. Welcome to the forum. You'll find there are all kinds of specific categories to post in. There are several categories for supporters, there is a category for sexual assault. You may find some of the threads that are already started to be very helpful. Also, don't be afraid to jump in and create a thread you will find that everyone is very good about giving honest feedback and you get so many different perspectives on things. Anyway, welcome to the forum. You are in a good place.

I'm made a conscious decision going in all those years ago and I knew what I was in for.

I love her... I see something in her that I have never seen in anyone else. Her honesty, strength, and determination.

Shes an amazing wife and an even better mother.

Shes my hero because she earned it!

Both myself and my partner suffer from PTSD. We are very much in love. Like you say, it's not easy, but highly worthwhile.

My husband and I have been married for 33 years this September. I have PTSD and DID and he has ADHD and TBI (This diagnosis figured out only a month ago.). Together we're a blessed mess. ;) Humor has been one of our mainstays. And the most important having Jesus as our anchor.
