((NH)) I think once the pain begins to subside and you get through this, you will no longer wonder if it was a mistake. Knee replacement surgery is a big deal, and it is going to take some time to get up and at 'em again. I know you can get through this though.
I struggle a lot with perfectionism as well, especially when I try quilting or crocheting. On my first quilt, I kept re-doing it so it would be perfect. I was going to give it to my mom, and the deadline was coming so I had to let the mistakes stay and not re-do them. It was hard not to let my perfectionism win, but when I did, it was great!! They didn't stand out, and no one even noticed them. The point I'm trying to make, is maybe just keep going and I bet when it's finished you won't even notice it and will love what you've created.
