Well it's that time of year again. Armistice Day, or Remembrance Day for me.

For those of you in the U.S.A. and other countries that may not know, at 11 am on the 11th or the 11th signified the end of WWI. It was meant to be the war to end all wars.

It's a day for me to remember all my buddies who have sacrificed their lives and also to remember both my father and father in law.

RIP Dad, Dad, and mates.

Lest We Forget.

They will never be forgotten by their brother and sisters in arms..

Unfortunately though many still have to be reminded in the mist of the holiday sales (UGH)

Today is the birthday of the Marine Corps and tomorrow is Veterans Day.

Today I raised a glass in their Honor; to those who came before, to those I served with, to those yet to come, OOHRAH!!

Men and Women like us will never forget that we and they served with Honor and Integrity.

I put a rose on the old man's grave. He loved roses. A tough man. 8th Air Force. Berlin, Regensburg, D-Day were highlights.

Still tough to make peace with him.

Wouldn't happen to be during the Berlin Airlift, would it, Vike? My old man did a very lengthy TDY there helping the Loadmasters sling boxes. Personally think it was lengthy not out of need but of love of pretty Frauleins and good beer. Biggest danger was clearing the tops of the apartment bldgs and not splattering all over the field.
