It's about 100 degrees F out there today, so no walks. And the pool is closed for repairs, so no more swimming outside this year. I'm really bumming about that. I just don't really like the lake. It's got lots of seaweed and crap. Though we'll take Gunner out there tomorrow. He loves it. But we do have the indoor pool at the hotel in town which I will start going to.

Tuesday: Back to walking - 30 minutes, Yoga Child Pose, Semi Supine Alexander Technique - for whomever asked me I haven't tracked a teacher down here yet. Sorry about that. I also did another 15 minutes of walking. I did some Yoga poses and gentle stretching this evening.

Me and Homer out for an evening swim last night and tonight.

He is an amazing swimmer but last night I was worried at one point because he seemed to want to follow the geese that were also swimming and swimming further and further out. He stopped when I called him but tonight I brought a rope to attach to his leash so that he was always tethered to me.

I don't know how far out we got but it was glorious. He let me put my hand in his harness as we were swimming back to shore and he tugged me along for a while. I just held on for the trip! When we got to the shore he was ready to go out again but I was already toast at that point.

I got up and immediately did a 30 minute body scan
I did The Alexander Technique semi supine.
I did some breathing.
After that I took the dog out for a short ten minute walk.
Going more for patterns and routines of exercise/body work, then will build up to longer exercise and a deeper intensity.
Gentle stretching, yoga and sitting as the night went on.

A really nice early morning run (4k) and then swim with my new training partner Homer. The water was warm, the air was really cool, almost fall-like so the swim was really refreshing especially after the run. Perfect running weather too.

I ran him before his breakfast and I am being careful with him because he's not used to too much activity and he's a pretty big dog.

When I dropped him off at home he went right to his bed and fall asleep. The trust of a dog - I can feel that he trusts where I take him and that I will not compromise his safety. He frequently looks up making 'soft' eye contact with me.

I don't know what he's saying - I only know it feels very healing for me when he does it.
