Yep. I'm guessing that's a lot to do with the timing, both in terms of trying to interrupt the democratic process, but also I think to possibly try and influence voting choices - different parties taking different approaches to immigration, I wonder if it suits the terrorists better to force a harder line to be seen to be 'fighting' against.
I've seen it locally since the Manchester attack, people now prioritising immigration over issues like health and education etc
Not sure where my thoughts were going with this, but I don't think the timing is a coincidence.

Not necessarily... incidents increase during a certain 30 days and it's the 9th day of Ramadan... I'd read yesterday, there were already 190-something deaths for the first 8 days and should these perps be identified as being a certain persuasion this will add to the death toll. Also, there was a call for increased activities several days ago and signals that there would be more attacks after the concert in Manchester. And that's pretty much all I'm gonna say about that.

News reports that both UK parties are suspending campaigning. No word if the election will be delayed though.

As long as energy is being fed into the overwhelming fears more so than it's ever fed into what we can each do in our own individual spaces and our own backyards to bring forth more genuine and meaningful education and unity, things will remain the same and continue to worsen at rather rapid rates, as we are currently witnessing, unfortunately. Mind control at its best, in my informally educated opinion. The gov't has made it more than clear through the years that human life really doesn't matter to them, no matter how many formal ceremonies they hold to supposedly respect it. Look how comfortably they take our loved ones away to fight their shit then treat them like shit upon their return, more often than not. Makes me sick.
Not sure when it will finally become obvious that allowing governments to take care of things for us is no longer a good idea, but it sure will be nice when it finally clicks. We're given the illusion of having control by being told our vote really counts. However, we have to have permission from that same gov't to do the most basic of things. You'd think it would be apparent by now how ineffective that process truly is at anything other than taking us down in different very painful and very expensive ways, depending on who is in office at the time. It appears it's going to take total destruction to have it finally sink in and that deeply saddens me.
The media works hard, and is paid rather well, to ensure our fear levels are topped off daily. Keeping us scared to go out into our own communities, fearful of speaking to strangers because they might be a terrorist, fearing others of different races and religions, and fearing and obeying authority like never before. While the supposed "powers that be" are busy as hell behind their proverbial curtains ensuring many of the "terrorists" (and news organizations) stay very well funded and well publicized. After all, it's nothing but job security to all of them. At what point is this lunacy going to be exposed for what it is and no longer allowed to be the "norm"?
It's been mentioned many times in various arenas how people are regularly being paid by gov't officials and such to go in and violently disrupt peaceful gatherings and protests of many types to invoke violence and bait and hook folks. It's been mentioned that the US government is heavily, if not solely funding Isis and other various "terrorist" organizations of days gone by. It's been mentioned that several "events" have clearly been staged and I've even seen ads posted on craigslist and such asking for crisis actors in the same areas weeks before seeing a tragedy occur in the same exact place. Coincidence? It doesn't feel like one to my spidey senses. Yet I'm instantly called a conspiracy theorist and dismissed immediately if I dare question anything, a term that often shuts down the minds of those already convinced.
No, I can't prove anything beyond a shadow of a doubt and have no desire to try. I feel it in my gut that many of them aren't trustworthy, and after working for a gov't owned state agency for over 13 years, I'm convinced more than ever that there are many more shady ones than most would like to admit. I have a couple acquaintances in the area that used to work for the CIA and their stories ripped my heart out and infuriated me. I was briefly married to my first husband, a green beret medic in Vietnam, and the things he told me that were done to them by their own gov't were incredibly unsettling. Whatever you think the gov't may be doing that's shady, add a few more dimensions of utter disbelief and disgust to it and then you'll be onto something. However that's not the stuff that's allowed to be made into headline or printed material, at least not without a whole lot of purposeful digging in various rabbit holes.
Divide and conquer at its best. Divide the attention and loyalties, create horror beyond belief, and quickly conquer any potential attempts at unity by cranking up the fear yet another notch, continuing to foster and increase the intensity of the chaotic and fearful environment we've all come to know. You really can't make this shit up, but when trying to discuss it, many are convinced you are the one who has because there's no way that level of insanity could ever be real.

The UK has an entirely different system.
From an electoral standard, they don't have 1-2 years of media circus surrounding their elections, in fact most have severely short time limits attached to them by law, and then popular culture attaches a vulgarity/disdain to the kinds of antics we get up to over here. Which doesn't mean dirty tricks are never used, just that they're quite a different creature.
Ditto their Security Services (and public) have been dealing with terror attacks for a veeeeeery long time, and in great depth, unlike ours. Just the business with the IRA included over 10,000 bombings over a 30 (<?> I need to double check that, but roughly) year period (most with no fatalities), and an extremely incomplete list of terror attacks (most involving fatalities) is listed here List of terrorist incidents in Great Britain - Wikipedia I have the complete list around here somewhere. I'll try and dig it out. But the point being, is that while in the US any kind of attack equals major funding & very reactionary pro law enforcement legislation going into effect, in the UK the effects are very nearly always the opposite. The public generally gets furious with the Security Services, and 5/GCHQ/etc... End up facing major hits coming their way, politically. Not increases.
So the whole American idea of "holding a bakesale" doesn't actually work over there. We start banging our drums and howling for blood, they start sacking people & tightening belts. Same language. Very different culture.
