Madness, Insanity & The World Wide Web

Slowly but surely... exercised yesterday for only 30 minutes and had a bit of coughing afterwards... so an easy session, but allowed me to gauge whether I was up for my normal routine or not. Nearly... so today I went for just a 5km run, and that was pretty good. Mind you, it hurt a little more than normal, which is usually not much. I could feel the cold I got still making it a little hard to breathe, nose got a bit runny during which isn't normal, and well... I was sweating more than normal.

So slowly I'm getting back to normal health... around the 95% mark I think at present. Tomorrow I'm going to change it up a bit more to an hour of cardio and see how I go. Hopefully good... and sweat the remainder of this cold out of me without repercussion.

At the moment I'm just about all video tutorial'd out. Currently learning a whole bunch of stuff about Google advertising features, programs and such... learning heaps that I didn't understand correctly, and certainly going to improve my current advertising campaign that is running for this site over the next few weeks.... so lowering costs and hopefully increasing membership. But still only about two thirds the way through the tutorials for this subject, let alone my next one for maximising Adsense ads.

You've done extremely well Anthony. Like the way you are up an at it. Probably doing your body a lot of good getting out in the fresh air, even though it may hurt a little.

Glad to hear the advertising is picking up. Yes it would be a lot to learn although it's a good way to keep up with the current changes in the computer world. It's way out of my league at my age. Luckily I have a son who works in computers, programs and so forth. He takes care of things.

Yer... stepped it up this morning to 20 minutes (250 calories) on the cross trainer... which certainly helped my nose run enough to get the little left out during this workout. Then I went for a 5km run (500 calories) which I had less issue with this morning than yesterday. So my body is kicking the remainder of this silly cold out it seems, without biting me on the bum. Fingers still crossed that it continues this way...

So much work with advertising... let alone writing around 50 - 100 landing pages, don't know the exact figure yet, for the adwords campaign I'm currently playing with. The problem with marketing campaigns is that you have to toss a whole lot of money at them for a month to get data, so you can then manipulate the data to be more accurate. Remove silly terms so you're I'm not paying for them, improving what is working to work marginally better, and overall... by improving the results you then pay less, whilst getting a higher position in Google ads. The more streamlined your ads, the better Google treat you. But getting that data takes time and $$$ first, before lowering costs and improving conversions.

Feeling a bit down because I'm not responding to a lot of new threads right now, due to be so busy with other aspects of the site. Hate that stupid self assessment nonsense... damn it brain. Slap yourself out of it and get on with the task.

Going to go for a solid run this morning, feel much better today and think I can just knock out a good 7 - 10km straight run. See how I go.

Advertising sucks... plain and simple. The rhetoric involved is staggering. The mind numbing changes, shifts and minor edits needed to turn poor performing ads into performing ads... argh!

Seen this last night, loved it... screams Anthony all over it.

Yep, I saw that one to Anthony and totally agree with it.

I might get slammed for this, but IMHO if most members donated a little bit you probably wouldn't have to go to such lengths. As previously stated you and Nicolette provide a much needed resource. I'm sure that the forum has saved lives and helped many anxious and desperate people. It certainly has done so with me.

Take care, enjoy your Sunday. :)

Damn Google policies... I wanted to run a remarketing campaign here for those who register, but do not confirm their accounts, but I can't do that for this site as Google has classified it under their sensitive sites, being the nature of discussion here. So even though the use of the remarketing campaign is valid, the entire site is deemed sensitive and thus I can't use that feature.

You know the ads... you go look at shoes, put them in the cart, decide not to buy, then as you visit any other site suddenly you see that site showing ads to you, reminding you about that pair of shoes you nearly bought. That is remarketing... and damn it, I can't use it to improve registration for those who don't confirm accounts.

Nuts... double nuts.
