Does anyone else feel like their sufferer used the side effects of their PTSD to manipulate you?

I'm not sure if he does this on purpose, or of he even means to do it...but I'm not sure what to do.

Often times it's when I'm going out with friends, or something along those lines. His typical line is "you're making me so anxious.". Most of the time I continue with my plans anyways, but sometimes I just give in...it's better than starting an argument.

Hi MurphyJB

I think we have all been through the manipulation part as some point, but like you say you have to make a stand and do your own thing sometimes.

As for him saying "Your making him anxious", sorry but no your not. It is him who is letting his own anxiety get the better of him, or he is using that as an excuse for you not to go.

He may well have reasons for feeling anxious when you go out, maybe ask him why this happens. If he can work it out himself, it could lesson, once he knows the reason. Giving them the answers is one way, but them working it out for themselves makes a bigger impact.

Hope that gives you some things to work with.
