Marijuana Really Helps Me

So, I initiated getting a medical marijuana licence tonight. There is a Canadian website that helps you find pot compassionate doctors to help you with the application forms

Seriously? Is there? My biggest problem has been finding a doctor to speak to. Would you be willing to PM the links?

I've asked for leads online, but I typically get responses from recreational smokers who offer to "help me out" by selling their product. I appreciate the thought, but I'm trying to get myself legalized.

Sometimes I love this country. Thank you!

I swear B2 for Category 2 applicants has changed. I seem to remember it listing several conditions and an "other" category. Now the phrasing is different. List your medical conditions and symptoms. This is a good sign!

LOL

yes, from what I have read, there is now only 2 categories as opposed to 3, and the way they have it set it a bit different. You only need a specialist to give a diagnosis. They no longer have to sign the numerous pages of the forms. A doctor can do that. Doesn't have to be YOUR doctor. Just a doctor who thinks that you would benefit. Be prepared to list medications you have tried, what the effect was, why they didn't work. Also, if you are already using medical marijuana (without the card), you can let the doctor who is signing the forms know how much you are using so they have an indea as to how much to prescribe per day...

I have a question mainly for the users. I have seen it posted so many times lately that people are getting High or intoxicated and going out. Why the heck get high and get in your car and go somewhere???? I do not understand this logic.... Being on any substance whether it is pot, alcohal or certain prescription drugs messes with reflexes. I understand some say it helps them fine, great, goovey but why put others at risk??? Why not stay home or if you have to go out get someone else to drive you.

I don't drive or smoke recreationally, so I can't answer that from my own experience, but from what I last read, the jury is out as to whether or not it's dangerous to drive while high.

I have seen three cases just in the last few months in which it has caused harm not just for the person smoking it but for their passengers and others. First we have a group of friends getting high in a car that decide it would be hilarious to go the wrong way on the freeway. Killed all but one...... the only substance was marijuana they had nothing else in there system including alcohal. The next case two friends were getting high in their car driving down the road, not paying attention to anything and hit another car killing 3(including the driver himself) and two injured only substance in their system Marijuana. Last but not least a young man was driving after leaving a party high drove head on into another car killing himself and two of the occupants of the other car were killed the third occupant is still in the hospital. Marijuana being the only substance. Please if you are going to use it stay home or get another driver...... Whether it be pot, alcohal or prescription drugs please please play it safe and dont put others in danger.

Hi Soldier's Wife.

I don't use medical marijuana at the moment, but I am in the process of getting my application together for my licence. The handful of times I have tried it I did not get high from it. I find that eating it doesn't make me loopy, but I am also careful to not consume too much. My goal is not to get high, but rather to have some freedom from pain and anxiety.

From the studies that are available to date regarding marijuana intoxication and driving, the biggest measurable change was in the movement of the car within the lateral lane markers. This change is not considered to be a definitive marker of likelihood to cause accidents, especially at the levels which were seen in the studies. Deviation of lateral position after consuming alcohol was much more effected than after consuming marijuana. There is more risk from drivers who have consumed prescription medications, especially painkillers than from people who use pot and drive. And the risk of someone being in or causing an accident while using a mobile phone is on par with that of a person who is significantly intoxicated from alcohol.

I don't agree with driving under the influence in any situation, but I think it is really important to put the matter into perspective.

Ooops...sorry. Forgot to add that in the majority of tests which were conducted as a result of a motor vehicle accident which showed THC in detectable levels in the blood, alcohol was present in the blood as well. Combining alcohol and marijuana is deemed to be especially problematic when considering a person's abilities to perform basic motor skill tests and their ability to drive.

I don't drive while under the influence of anything. Although I drive when I am tired sometimes, which can be considered equally as dangerous.

Unfortunately, I do not have a chauffeur to ensure I get from point A to point B when I am sleepy though.

While we're on the topic, I also think it is dangerous to drive under the influence of applying make-up, talking on a cell phone, smoking a cigarette, or being emotionally overwhelmed.

I drove for 5 hours when I quit smoking cigarettes...shouldn't have been behind the wheel at all! Whew! I couldn't put 2 thoughts together that day!
