Finally! A PLAN!! Having a 'port' for the IV's is SO much better than getting poked all the time! Do you have some nice PJs to hang around in? Spoil yourself until everything starts! And stock up on fluids, in case eating doesn't sound good. Are you talking about a real taco? Mmmmm, I've been craving some...

Rest well!

My darling Froggie, I read that and I was elated and apprehensive for you. Angel is so right, nice PJs and nice music or relaxation and an audio book on an iPod, wonderful when you want to close you eyes and block everything out or are too tired to read yourself.

I wish I could be there for you, but you know I am with you in spirit. I will have a candle burning for you.

Another part of the journey begins and you have lots of support to come with you.

Yayyy, finally! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, that your side effects will be mild and quickly passing. And, hey, those cancer cells will feel sooo much more nauseaus than you do :)

FYI, I recently [DLMURL="http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2008/10/vitamin_c_and_cancer_revisited_1.php"]read[/DLMURL] about a study that many chemo therapy agents show reduced cytotoxicity (up to 70%) in cancer cells when the cells were supplied with additional Vitamin C. The study used cells in vitro and also a mouse model, both treated to moderately elevated levels of Vit C. Studies in humans haven't been performed yet.

The recommendation following from there would be that while you are in a chemo therapeutic treatment plan, you should abstain from Vit C supplementation and stick to a normal healthy diet.

Hey Froggie, I've found you some pyjamas.

Froggie I am so happy to hear you are starting treatment. My sister, who is going through Chemo, says a stuffed animal is very comforting to her. She has a stuffed kitty, she holds it during treatment and falls asleep. Just a thought...sure you must have a nice stuffed animal...if not let me know and I will send you one!!!! HUGS (((((Froggie))))))
