Music at gyms

DO any of you go to a gym? I go to one. It has three branches. After all my trauma and head injuries it is hard to be there now because they started music. They had one branch that was free of it. It is loud and obnoxious and relentless. I wrote them a humiliating letter about trauma and head injuries and neurodiversity, etc........

"We will listen to what other members say...."

No other gym I ever went to plays the music so loud. One branch sometimes will turn it down. Once I did and the staff glared at me and turned it up twice as loud. It's a hick area, so no one would ever even think that someone would not like it. But two older gentlemen are now wearing earplugs! I ask people what they think and they say they just tune it out.

All I asked for was a little down time, like maybe a few hours where people with disabilities culd come and feel safe. No dice.

Do you guys get this?

That's a main reason I no longer go to the gym. The one I can afford blares the music. Along with all the TV screens it's just too much. The YMCA doesn't play music but they're out priced for me. So right now I do the course at the park and some stuff at home.

Some gyms do that. Most used to, but with MP3s & WIFI & people listening to their own music & watching their own shows, it seems to be fairly rare these days.
