My Memory Had Been Failing, Then I Recalled Something important to do with anxiety recovery and shared it here, hopefully to help others. I have been playing a Scrabble type game online and my Psychiatrist told me to play Scrabble to regain my memory. Memory has been improving! I'm pleased. (The thing I shared is in the Anxiety Section).

I got a Scrabble Game for Christmas for myself. I don't get many gifts, but I do gift myself, so as not to be depressed at this time of year. I play Scrabble against myself, since I live alone and cannot find anyone to play it with. It is fun, actually!

If your memory needs some help: Try it, you'll like it. Also get yourself a Scrabble Players Dictionary, it helps !!!

I play an average of one game per day, and my game is right next to my computer. This way when I wait for pages to load, I can play a move. I don't bother counting points, though I do see which words I can make that have the most points that turn. I do try to play my number 1 or number 2 selves in order though. I figure that is important. Also, I don't ever take from both players to make up any one word. (I guess I did do that once, but just to keep a game going rather than have to scrap it; then I recalled you can turn your letters back into the bag and get new ones; I have not had to do that yet though).

I really like what you said about getting things for yourself. It stuck out to me because I am starting to care more about myself.

For example, I'm getting a facial and a massage on Monday. This wouldn't have been considered at all last year, at this time.

I also really like Scrabble, so I will try to play against myself sometime.

Good for you, Siva. There are all kinds of things we can do for ourselves that we should do. Another thing I did was to buy those memory books that place two pictures side by side and tell you to look for the minor differences between them. I bought several of these for myself for Christmas! They are fun, kind of like a game. In fact, they are called BRAIN GAMES officially by the company that manufactures them. I found one in the grocery store, the ordered some others on Amazon.com.
