It has been suggested to us previously to try crowd funding to assist server costs, so... I have setup a crowd fund for just this, an entire years server fee's plus the associated costs the crowd fund site take.

This doesn't change our current monthly donation, as that is required until this crowd fund is complete. If you can't donate, then this is your opportunity to help us by sharing the hell out of our crowd fund website:

There are links on the page to share on your Facebook, twitter and so forth. The more you share it, daily even, the more exposure it gets and hopefully we can remove the monthly donation goal, remove the monthly stress of raising money to keep the site online, and start working on an annual fund.

People often ask me how they help when they can't afford to donate... well... this is it, share the hell out of that go fund me page with your social networks and such.

I'm giving it a go, simple as that. It hasn't been tried, so hopefully a broader market of people are attracted this way, and the only way we'll know whether it is viable or not, is to try.

Oh... there are incentives on that page for those who run businesses or websites.

Why nothing happens, and people all think someone else is going to help out.

That page has 5 shares... really? From over 1000 active members here, 5 shares. This is one reason why mental health struggles along, because even those affected by it do nothing to help fix it.

Disappointing is the word that often comes to my mind. Sorry... but that is exactly what I see here time and again when support is needed, even in a non-monetary nature.

Sharing that page doesn't associate you with this website on your Facebook or Twitter pages... it just says you personally support the cause, that's it.

It is pinned here, it is advertised in all sidebars and ad rotations... says the same thing on the gofundme page about sharing.

I don't use Facebook or Twitter but I shared it via e-mail and I will mention it at my concerts instead of the organization I usually talk about.

I'm almost never on FB, but I did share it just now.

Took me about 17 tries to get into the FB account I have not used in about six years, but I figured it out and shared it. My FB is something of a graveyard, but hopefully my college pals and family will see it and decide it's a worthy cause.

Ok, I am sorry to be so thick but I do not understand - hence my absolute hesitation to share. It says;

"Nothing gets posted to your wall. Only your Facebook name & photo are used."

- are used where and by who? I do use facebook but do not understand how I can share anything without it showing on my wall?

None of my facebook friends bar 2 know about my diagnosis and I want it to stay that way. I am frightened of sharing. Yes I am all for reducing the stigma but I could risk my career if this was misunderstood.

@Lucycat you're confusing posting a comment onto that page versus sharing. Sharing will put this on your FB wall to your friends. It doesn't associate you with the site, it only says you support the cause, nothing more. If people know you as lucycat, then don't do it.
