I had a real shtf scenario afterwards I didn't understand why I was so angry full of depression and having overwhelming anxiety.

I was put on Valium I'm now on antidepressants guess I'm here to find out how long I'm going to be Like this.
I went for a drive the other day and it felt like I was going into a warzone nothing happened but I had a unrelenting feeling something was about too.

Unfortunately nobody can tell you how long you'll feel this way, but the good news is that healing is indeed possible.

Hi Craig!

It's hard to tell how long you'll have situations you feel like that, but it doesnt last forever for everyone.
Lots of good people to talk with here, and helpful stuff to read.
I wasnt expecting it to be much help when I signed up here, but its been really helpful and I'm glad I did it.
Just so you know, in case you cant sleep, there are people chatting here 24/7. :)

Welcome, Craig. I know that hypervigilance feeling you talk about, as well as the anxiety and depression. This is a good place, especially as an adjunct to good therapy. Good luck!
