OMG !!!! I Am SOOOOOO Cold

OK ! I live in Florida, ya know, The "Sunshine State". Beaches, Palm Trees, Warm Ocean Breezes ! !

It is 27 frickin degrees outside. It actually snowed on Friday night. Yes, it snowed. It snowed enough to make snowmen. OK, so they were little snowmen, but they were still snowmen. It is so ccccccccccold!

All my plants look like old yard clippings. They are all shriveled up and limp and, well, they are goners. The birds are gone, and the squirels are no where to be seen. Our white egrets, don't know where they went.

OMG!!!!!!! It is way to cold down here. There is ice on our roads for god sakes! :rofl:

I would have sympathy for you, but I live in Indiana. It was 0... yes 0... the other morning and I had to clean off the car and go out there and freeze. I remember being warm..... it's a distant memory though. Just checked the temp because I have to go outside again today :(.... Once again it is 0. /sigh

Seriously though, I hope the warm weather gets here soon for everyone who is cold. Being cold is absolutely no fun.

Sending you warm thoughts... I recommend blankets and lots of them until the warm weather returns.

The thing about PTSD and life is that there will always be someone who has it better and worse than you no matter how much you suffer.....I live in Sweden btw.:wink:

The best thing to do is to try and layer as much as possible, then if feels comfortable outside. Invest in some insulated, waterproof boots. Try winter sports or casting snowballs to stay warm. If inside, make hot cocoa, light a few candles, and have a warm blanket on your couch and some warm slippers. I hope this helps. I used to hate the cold and snow when I was younger, but now I embrace it by doing these things.

It does seem like a dirty trick to have weather that cold in Florida. And I'm sure you feel it much more than we would up north. You probably don't even own clothes for weather that cold.

Something I've observed here in MA is that when the temps get into the 40's in the fall, it feels cold. But after along winter, the 40's feel like spring. Some guy with frizzy white hair said something about things being relative?

Thanks guys for the warm thoughts. I'm just trying to get warm. Mother nature seems to have gone nuts. Hope she recovers soon. I'm not a cold weather person. I don't even like cool. And yet there were some crazy tourists this weekend in 20 degree weather swimming at the beach.

I would comment about southerners being babies about cold weather if I didn't feel like the witch of the west when the water was thrown on her once the temperature is above 80. :D

For the record, our highs have been in the 20's all week but it has never gotten above 8 degrees here...
(and right now it's actually 8, funny thing is, our "low" is supposed to be 9! o_o how does that even happen?!)

But hang in there! The weather channel says you should get back up to normal temperatures next week! :D

BUT, HELLO, THIS IS FLORIDA ! ! ! ! ! !

Thank you!!!! We've been saying that all doggon week. We didn't get any of the snow/sleet here in Tampa...the rain stopped before it dropped below freezing here. But my plants do look pretty rough. Saturday it was 36 degrees F (that's just a couple of degrees for you C minded folks) for a high with rain most of the day. This morning is below freezing...again.

Fortuantely it's supposed to warm back up to normal later this week. I'll be so glad to shut that damned heater off. I don't know if it's the cold weather or what, but all week I've been going to sleep at around 8pm and having funky, crazy dreams (last night was eating hot dogs and pancakes in Bolivia :doh:).

I honestly wish we could swap right now! Here in Aus it was 41 degrees Celsius (106 Fahrenheit...).

I feel like I'm melting! I wish we could send over some of our heat and you could send some coolness down under!!!!

I would be very glad to send down all the cold weather you can handle. I am seriously over this weather. Besides, I hate the heater being on. Most of the time it never even gets turned on. It has been years since I have turned it on. I'm surprised it even works. And I am not alone in this, most of the people in the state feel the same way.

But, I am concerned about you, Marlene. Hot Dogs, pancakes and Bolivia????????????????????????? That is some serious weird dreaming.
