Pain Meds Are Depressing Me

I was prescribed a rare set of pain meds for adhesions last week(prior to dr changes) and now I'm finding myself not only (if this is possible!) more moody but with this low hanging depression. A med depression.

I had forgotten about the reaction to this type of medication because it's been years since I've been on them. I don't like it, I'm glad I realize what it is but yuck, bad timing, I can't think well and only want to be left alone. :(

peace,
rain

So sorry to hear it Srain! It's good that you recognise what is causing the depression, but it's terrible that it is a side effect. I hope that it is one that is over quickly, and leaves just the medicine to do it's job controlling your pain. ((((hugs))))

That's awful! How terrible to utilize a tool that you expect to be helpful only to have it make you worse.

Are you letting your doctor know about this reaction? Be sure to keep in close contact with those who support you during this rough phase (though it may be hard since you are feeling the pull to be alone). I know I have phases where I just want to stay in my room all day and it's hard to make the choice to go out and be around people, but when I do it's always worth it. Kind of like going to the gym ;)
