Pelvic Exam

Thank you for your support, Pie! I greatly apprecitate it!

I recently went to the gynecologist - my first time ever. She did a pelvic exam, which I am proud to say, was the first one that I have ever had that didn't hurt! This doctor is amazing. She did come to the conclusion though that I have endometriosis. So, my battle with abuse just got a bit rougher. Not only do I have to learn to live like a survivor, but now I have a disease that involves my "lady parts." Thank God I have a community of people on here to help and support me, because I am sure that I am going to need it!

I sat up after it was over and my doctor asked if I was ok. She knows about my abuse and she apologized a million times for having to do that to me. She laid me back down and got me some water.

Can I say congratulations on using a female doctor for this very personal exam, just be aware a male doctor will be waiting to pounce, as you go through the system, worth thinking about and how to handle it imo.

I can only assume that you have had a bad experience with a Doctor, but that doesn't mean that all male doctors 'will be waiting to pounce'.

I'm also pretty sure that if you wanted, you could insist on seeing a female doctor at any stage.

I don't think it's particularly helpful to make frightening comments like that without at least some form of explanation as to why you feel that way.
