I recently went to an eye-opening doctor’s appointment with a relative who is suffering from awry menstrual issues and migraines. One of the things that the doctor recommended was checking out a booklet put out by the Pelvic Pain Foundation.

So I did.

It’s one of the most helpful, easy to read, eye-opening, problem-solving things I’ve read in a long time. It not only covers menstrual pain, but painful sex (like, wow!), constipation and bowel issues, bladder issues (do you need to pee, like, a LOT! but not have an infection?), and even the influence of anxiety and migraines.

Not a long read, but if you’re like me and spend a lot of time wondering if something is bad enough or abnormal enough to warrant speaking to a doctor, it’s fantastic.

With PTSD, it can get crazy hard to tell what’s going on where, whether it’s normal, whether it’s a PTSD-thing or whether it’s something neurotypicals also deal with. And of course, “Is it okay if I ignore this!?!”

The Foundation also deals with mens issues, and the info for guys is on their website.
