O

oneandonlyMOM

This is my worst part of the day. Trying to fall asleep. When you have anxiety I don't think the worry ever stops! Anyone else use melatonin?

Melatonin never worked for me or Sleepy Time Tea, but everyone's different.

If I do an hour of exercise during the day and mindful meditation, and then at the end of the night involve my mind in something absolutely riveting or absorbing, I can usually fall asleep okay but it takes a couple hours after my husband is asleep and I spool down and my inner self senses there is no threat to safety. Lately if I watch a show where someone is telling a story, I get very sleepy.

I was up late tonight doing stimulating things so here I am at 3 am. I'm going to watch one of my pre-recorded story shows and fingers crossed - will fall asleep pretty soon. I hope you are sleeping!

I use to use use it a lot. seems like it took me awhile for it to work. Sleepy time tea is good for relaxing me. My hot tea collection is growing lol. I love tea before sleep :).

Melatonin helps, but only if it's insomnia and not insomnia mixed with agitation.

I use sublingual melatonin. I get it from vitamin world as it's the only sublingual melatonin I've found that isn't loaded with B vitamins (I can't overload on B vitamins as they increase my anxiety). The sublingual kind works much faster for me and at a lower dose.

Thank you all. I feel like I have real options now. I joined this site yesterday, and I actually slept great last night. I put all my worries out on the table in forums and it actually did clear my head. I knew I would get help from somone, and I DID! Thank you all.

I'm now prescribed valdoxan, a melatonin based anti depressant. After nearly two years of very little sleep despite all kinds of sleeping meds at high doses I now generally sleep quite well. I'm rediscovering the ability to have dreams rather than just mini blink nightmares. Friends have tried valdoxan too with varying results, like everything there is no magic bullet.

Welcome to the forum, I've found lots of old info and good people here.
