Oh Naturebaby, that's severe! I know quite a bit, and am happy to help :)
Sounds to me like you may have some food allergies...
The first thing you need to do is get on probiotics. For the first month, you need to be taking at least two a day 10mins before you eat.
Second step is to eliminate dairy from your diet for a week and see if it makes a difference. You may have an intolerance to the casin protein found in dairy. Signs your body is not tolerating it is becoming mucus-y after eating dairy, bloating, cramps, diarrhoea, gas.
If it helps to stay of dairy, stick with it! Another food allergy to consider is gluten. It has very much the same signs as the dairy- minus the mucus. You may need to stay off gluten for a few weeks to notice a difference - it takes a while for your body to recover.
People who struggle with depression tend to eat easily accessible foods, which are often highly processed and unhealthy. The best thing you can do for yourself is when your feeling like you have energy, prepare healthy foods to keep in the freezer that take little or no time to get on the plate.
In my freezer, I have portion sized containers with:
-two different types of my fav soups
-chilli con carne (goes with corn chips)
-cottage pie
-rogan josh with rice
...I also make my own hommus and other dips, and then keep salad sticks in the fridge for dipping and a supply of rice crackers. I eat lots of fruit, and limit the amount of meat I eat (body takes a long time to digest meat) replacing it with kidney beans etc where I can.
If you're able to see a naturopath, they can obviously help much more than I can... I know funds can be limited when people have PTSD though. So I'm happy to share what I've learnt- hope this helps!
