Music is a huge for me and key to my self-therapy, guides my moods and helps me with predictable shit, like commuting. So this Playlist blog caught my eye. I see maybe 3 themes: Songs we like, Songs that speak to folks with PTSD, Songs about PTSD. I like them all but I'm trying to do some research to build a playlist of songs "about PTSD." For example, Sade "Like a Tattoo" she wrote after talking to a Nam Vet:
"...Like the scar of age

As I reveal my shame to you
I wear it like a tattoo..."

Also, got some fav tunes I like to release anger on but I'll save that for another post.

I don't get it how does someone hate Metallica and love techno korn?

I had to listen to Metalica for 6 months day after day, over and over, every day for most of the 12 hour shift. The same album. Only the one album. The black one. At that time my musical taste was rather tame.

It's not so much the genre, or the band, it's the memories associated with it.

Edit: Half an hour later... Ya, it's the band too. If I didn't go through the above, I might have liked Matalica, but...
