ODG, it truly is a 'catch 22', I'm not sure what a skit on the daily show will do.

Most of the more recognizable Veteran groups have been beating on that door for decades with no success. The Gov holds all the cards, even if they were to recognize the situation they will do a "rope-a-dope'' for years and play the 'deny, delay until they die card.

Our only card - support those who have the legal expertise financially and legislatively to fix it for the newer veterans.

I do wish I could do something. I was almost one of those. I think back to the chances I took. All caused by holding in that anger. I think of some of the cases I personally knew though, and something else was going on other than PTSD.

Ba, that was one of the things that made me disgusted, it was on the daily show after all these years! I guess that's better than nothing!!!! As I understand it, they are doing the same thing today with our newer veterans.

When the Air Force assigned us to the theater, rather than assign us in VN, they PCS's us to Naha, Okinawa. That way rather than keep us there for 12 months they could keep us there for 18. The weird deal is that we would do the 18 and then we would be reassigned back to the states for six months before discharge.

Well, the rumor mill started rumblings of "early outs". The truth behind the rumors was our guys, out of their gourd crazy after the war, would act up back in the states and get "less than desirable" discharges because of it. It was starting to create a lot of bad attitudes. So, the Air Force would discharge us right as we came back and they could stamp us "honorable discharge" and solve the problem.

I never understood why they didn't just keep us in training for six more months and everything would work out right. One of the guys that got BCDs was a guy named "Champ", he taught me everything and was one fine airman. I really hope those guys got their discharges turned around.
