This is interesting to me. I had a pretty good relationship with my father when iwas growing up, but my brother struggled - and his favorite Roald Dahl book is Danny, Champion of the World. My favorite book as a child was Danny, Champion of the World by Roald Dahl. I didn't have a great relationship with my father and that book is about a great relationship between a young boy and his dad. I read it once a year and it gives me a little bit more hope each time.
For some reason I never got to it, even though I read most of Roald Dahl's children's books. - probably because I was such a tough little thing, I only wanted to read what I came up with, not what other people suggested. - (thank goodness I grew out of THAT! As evidenced by this thread :) )
But now, because of what you mention here, schmidt, I wonder... I'm thinking I should read it and maybe it will help me understand my brother a little bit better. Thanks for explaining why you liked this particular book best.
