I need some solid material on the brains developmental stages and where the majority of behavioural learning is achieved, being early childhood. Also about its strengths at early childhood, which should be something alone the lines of ability to understand and comprehend the extent of trauma at that age, hence the symptoms of PTSD typically don't begin until into adulthood as a majority.

Anthony, This link goes to a study that analyzes the variance in symptomatology of PTSD, as outlined in the DSM-IV for children at various ages. Basically, the underlying research identifies PTSD in children, but symptoms manifest themselves in ways that do not currently fall under the DSM-IV diagnostic guidelines.

I have attached two other research reports that indicate the differences in how children with PTSD process trauma as compared to a control group. Let me know how much you want. Also, if you would like a summarized analysis of the key points of the research study let me know and I can do that.
