Retrying Prazosin- Forgot Days Of Intial Dose

Retrying Prazosin - Forgot how many days to take initial dose before starting to increase to maintenance dose. Don't want to bother new psychiatrist until I know it will work (think I will see him next week.)

Anyone remember days?

Been on 2 mg for 4 nights. I can't remember how many days before I can increase. I get no side effects. No dizziness.

...recently had neighbors complain/concerned about screams from apartment early morning hours... Reason I am retrying.

Not sure if PTSD or something else.

I needed a good 5-6 days between dose changes. Mine were 1mg changes, and I started at 2mg.

I remember doing 4 days; but really, call your pharmacist. Seriously. They are very useful people.

I use to have a great pharmacist. Then she left.. :(

They were out of stock, so had to go to new pharmacy. No relationship with them, and this medicine is little over a year old. So they will tell me not to take - even though the VA ran test to save money, and most medicines don't lose any effectiveness, and are still good for years from what I read VA said.

But my blood work (another issue) didn't come back very good today. Scheduled meeting with a doctor tomorrow, and will ask him if I remember. It's in my notes. Just hope I don't dissociate.

Saw doctor of internal medicine today. Very relieved! Never going back to old doctor again.

End I asked about prazosin increases. Told old psychiatrist said I would probably have to go up to 10mg nightly. He was shocked. Told I should stay on 2 mg for now.

What amount do most people take?

It was kinda funny. I told him I saw a psychiatrist there. Apparently doctor talked to receptionist before I left. After I paid, she included post it note for psychiatrist personal number to make appointment. I wanted to laugh - since when I need to see him I send him a TEXT MESSAGE him to make appointment! (he makes his own appointments instead of office.)

My primary was also shocked at the suggestion that 10-15mg can be ideal for a lot of PTSD sufferers.

She also started me at 2mg and I have found ideal to be 5-6mg as of now.
