No, not at all. I was just interested. Here in the US, a three-month involuntary inpatient stay is a pretty long time and there are typically symptoms that are presenting themselves. It doesn't mean that the person has a mental illness (esp. when the patient is a minor, and in there because their parent or guardian is placing them) - plenty of individuals get misdiagnosed - but that level of care is expensive, and insurance companies aren't always willing to pay for continuing institutionalization without any visible cause. That's all. I'm sure it's (somewhat) different in the UK.I hope I don't come across as an ahole now.
