Here is a letter that a female friend of the rapist sent to the judge. It's quite .... something. Because you see, his rape was not rape-rape, it was just rape. So he really should be cut some slack. It seems the dude is surrounded by people thinking he can do no wrong.

Where 'politics' enters this issue is the elected judge is a former Stanford alumni up for reelection, and the judge's consideration of character letters written on behalf of assailant. The judges remarks are remarkable. Convicted has no prior convictions, so therefore will not do this again, WTF. Petitions for the the judge's recall are involved in this case. Also that the convicted is submitting an appeal to conviction.

I don't think the dad was necessarily showing entitlement so much as wanting to save his son------his own flesh and blood-----from going to jail. It helps to examine who is acting in what ways--------I'm sure many of us would do whatever we could to prevent our children from going to prison.

As much as I love my sons, I would never advocate for a lesser sentence because they know right from wrong. And violence toward a woman, on any level, would never be tolerated by me. They put them selves there.

"only 20 minutes of action" That is such a telling phrase, wow. He phrased it the way a fratboy would talk about sex. "Jo man, totally gonna get some action today." He used this phrase to talk about the rape his son committed. I think that is not just a father protecting his son @EveHarrington. There is so much more vile shit going in the fathers letter, but that takes the cake.

Her Victim Statement was awesome for sure ! Now lets see what the powers that be can do to help other women in the same situation.. I hate it that the boy and his father are getting so much attention with their attitudes...
Apparently from the boys attitude, the apple didn't fall far from the tree, with the dad stating 'for twenty minutes of action' , shows how he was taught to view women.... But very proud of her for having her voice !!

I think that's a good point, It's not that different to the invalidating minimisation that many people here receive when they try to tell their own families
It's totally unjust and it hurts like hell, but some people come out with it whether they mean it or not.
